Penshaw 10K, 5th October 2025

Jo Perthen was our sole competitor in year’s Penshaw 10K trail race. As anybody who has ever been to Penshaw Monument, it is not flat around there, so any race there is a tough one. On top of the hills, it was still a tad breezy following Storm Amy, so Jo did very well to finish in 50th place overall in a time of 1:07:42.
“It was a REALLY tough course and I was absolutely over the moon to be the 6th female finisher! It was very hilly but beautiful, with long sections along the riverside and through the trees. Lots of steps, long uphill grass and gravel sections, styles and kissing gates. It was a beautiful sunny day and a good atmosphere. We really needed the sweets and water provided at the finish line, which was at the end of a long uphill slog to the monument. Not a course for PBs!”
