London Marathon, 26th April 2026
Claremont had two representatives pounding the streets of the capital this year – Mark Anderson and Nina Jensen, and both did the club proud. Despite running with a dodgy knee for quite a few months now, Mark still put in an impressive performance to complete the course in a bit over 3 hours. He says that he tired late on due to the heat – those of us who spend our time running around the North East are not used to such temperatures in April!
Nina is a veteran of over 100 marathons, though amazingly this was her first time at London. This is her summary:
“Well what can I say. The biggest marathon in the world and I was the lucky participant of the Claremont place. So no pressure then! It was immense from start to finish, the crowds shouting your name like they know you, the noise, the iconic buildings and that finish! Oh and being part of the marathon where sub 2 was finally achieved and the biggest number of finishers for a marathon. Thanks again Claremont. I loved it!!!!!”
