It was the calm between two storms on Saturday morning and, with the afternoon’s Harrier League event cancelled, this presented an opportunity to get a run before the winds got too strong (though a number of members had opted to volunteer with the plan being to save the legs for said cross-country).
The queen of tourism this week was Lena Lou, who ventured across the North Sea to Stavanger, where she not only ran but finished as 1st female. Nearer home, we had representatives at two Yorkshire parkruns – Lucy and Rob Ward followed in Cate and Laurie’s footsteps (see last week) by running at Harrogate, with Niamh Garratt and Zoe Jukes being the latest to try out York Community Woodland.
Lost Shore Surf Resort sounds incredibly exotic, but it is, in fact, a new parkrun located just to the west of Edinburgh! Now based up there, Ailsa Ralph and Harry Tracey took advantage of their new location to attend the inaugural event.
A big well done to Aoife Monaghan for recording the only PB of the week, as she finished 3rd female running up and down the hills of Chopwell Wood.
