Magnificent venue with races starting and finishing with the backdrop of the Castle and River Aln and taking in the best parts of Hulne Park, the private estate of the Duke of Northumberland. The Half ventures further into the Park.
This route has summer and winter variants. The summer version goes through nice off road paths between fields and the golf course. The summer route is approximately 7.3M (11.8K); in winter it is a bit longer at 7.4M (12K), with the short version at 5.2M (8.4K).
A new venue will provide the finale for this season's NE Harrier League. All members welcome - club pays fees and organises lifts.
Up Claremont Road and across the paths to Cowgate. Then a bit of a climb to Kenton Bar, before a downhill stretch through Kenton and around the edge of the Town Moor. The full route is approximately 6.8M (11K) and the shorter version is approx. 3.6M (5.8K).
This is a toughie! A steep climb up Denton Bank, but the last couple of miles are downhill! Everyone’s favourite!? The full route is approximately 7M (11.2K) and the shorter version is approx. 5.1M (8.2K).
Teams of 3, each running 2 laps of approximately 2.2 miles at Newburn Riverside Park. Course is on road and trail (though road shoes are fine). All welcome, club pays fees and lifts will be arranged.
One of the most scenic running events in the UK, the route takes in a working Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, and a long stretch of coastline before finishing at St. Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.
