The Boxing Day Pudding Run is a North East tradition, attracting thousands of runners to Whitley Bay every year to run off the Christmas excess with a seafront run suitable for all abilities." "Starting from the Links, this scenic 5K takes you along the beautiful coastline of Whitley Bay and back, finishing next to the Helipad where you will collect your 'prize', a Christmas or sponge pudding. As this is a FUN run Christmas costumes are encouraged.

This route has summer and winter variants. The summer version goes through nice off road paths between fields and the golf course. The summer route is approximately 7.3M (11.8K); in winter it is a bit longer at 7.4M (12K), with the short version at 5.2M (8.4K)
5th event in this team competition organised by North Shields Poly. Claremont has 3 teams of 8 runners. Course is along the front at Whitley Bay.
A nice, quick relay to break up the Harrier League action, just down the road in Birtley. Teams of 3, each person runs 2 laps of 1500m or 3km/1.8 miles total. All members welcome - club pays fees and organises lifts.
Up Claremont Road and across the paths to Cowgate. Then a bit of a climb to Kenton Bar, before a downhill stretch through Kenton and around the edge of the Town Moor. The full route is approximately 6.8M (11K) and the shorter version is approx. 3.6M (5.8K).
