North East Cross Country Championships 2011

The North East Championships took place at the same East Cramlington venue as the opening Harrier League race.  However this time the course was longer and much muddier.  It also differs from the Harrier League in that it is a mass start with no handicapping (so the only time I see the fast runners is at the start!).  Still, it didn’t rain!

The Claremont men, again exclusively veterans, came home in a couple of close groups, unfortunately they were not groups near the front:

Tracy Etherington was the sole lady to represent the club and she put in her usual spirited to run to finish in an excellent 28th place in a time of 38.39.
