Hadrian Hundred, 25th to 27th May
The Hadrian Hundred was the flagship event of 2019 for the Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA). Dave Wotton completed the challenge, and summarised his experience below:
“Organised by our own Bill Milbourne and the Nortumbria LDWA. We had a brilliant weekend , the weather was not the best for the hardest parts of the route but I did really enjoy going over Cross Fell.
The check points were amazing with waiter service all manned by different regional groups of the LDWA. We still managed to do 111 miles somehow.”
As well as organising the event, Bill talked Mary Martin, Marie Slack and Nina Jensen into acting as tail walkers/runners for 22 miles of the route. Mary said that she was thankful for the recent Claremont hill training as it helped with the over 3,000 feet of climbing involved!
