No Newcastle parkrun this weekend, so a bit of a spread around the North East. Congratulations must go to Catherine Young for finishing as first female at Gateshead – and this despite running the beer mile the night before! I don’t think Laura Muir prepares for races like that!

David Lydall and Rose Hawkswood also ran at Saltwell Park after participating in Friday night’s shenanigans, and Luke Woodend made it out to Hexham to try Tyne Green parkrun for the first time.

Elsewhere there was a course PB for Tom Tinsley at Gibside (Friday night preparation: 1 bottle of beer and 2 glasses of wine).
