We spread ourselves about a bit this week, covering 8 North East parkruns as well as a couple further afield. Laurie Johnson was down in Letchworth, but the prize for parkrun tourist of the week goes to Margaux Robin.
Margaux ran at Clover Point parkrun which is in Victoria on the beautiful Vancouver Island off the west coast of Canada. Not only did she run, but finished as first lady – wearing her Claremont Road Runners vest. Well done, Margaux – I am very jealous!
However it is no surprise that by far the biggest turnout of the week was at Leazes Park, as Cath Robson was offering cake to celebrate a special birthday. 17 Claremonters were in the field of 122, with a further 5 volunteering. It was also a day for landmarks as Tara Hipwood and Maria Duenas both chalked up their 50th parkrun. Nikoletta Szlovak showed that Margaux wasn’t the only leading lady that Claremont possess, recording a Leazes PB to finish as 1st lady. It was also a case of “another week, another PB” for Fred Besse! Well done, everybody!
