Chopwell Moon Runner 10K, 22nd October 2022
Simon Lowe donned his head torch and went out running after dark around Chopwell Woods. This was the Chopwell Moon Runner 10K race.
Simon did very well (as ever) and finished in 14th place out of 158 runners in a time of 47:17. In hos own words:
“Great fun in the dark. Weather conditions were ideal, though it was a bit boggy under foot in sections. I should have worn my mudclaws, as my Salomon sense rides were useless for the most part.
Fast first half with a two mile downhill section in the first half saving a few hills for the second half of the race. Walked every hill – should probably have put more effort in.
Went over on my ankle on some of the technical section around mile 4.”
Simon obviously didn’t hurt his ankle too badly as Strava shows him running a half-marathon on the trails the very next day. Well done!
