With Leazes Park being among a number of local events called off due to icy paths, the largest Claremont contingent could be found on the Town Moor, where conditions were surprisingly good. The gravel paths were generally clear, though there were a couple of marshals strategically placed to help runners avoid slipping on frozen puddles! In fact, although bitterly cold, it was a beautiful morning with the bright sun glistening on the white moorland.
As well as club members, the first of our C25K group “graduated” by doing Town Moor parkrun – and she ran all the way! So a very big “well done” to Anneliza Andreadi.
Others stayed local, with Rising Sun, Jesmond Dene and Gateshead going ahead. Only Clare McKitterick ventured further afield, heading south to Sedgefield.
There were no PBs – well, it wasn’t that sort of day – but congratulations to Heather Steel for finishing as first lady at Gateshead.
