There was no parkrun in Leazes park this week which probably contributed to Claremont Road Runners spreading ourselves across 14 different parkruns on Saturday morning.
As usual, it was the Claremont ladies who led the way with two first places and two seconds and the only PB. Izzy Neatrour went over to the Netherlands to show the Dutch how it was done and finished as 1st female. Nearer home, Sophie Douglas paid her first visit to the hills of Chopwell Wood and came home first too! Maria Duenas is visiting the Claremont colony down under and showed that she is recovering well from her marathon exploits to take 2nd place amongst the women. New member and Couch-to-5k graduate Holly Porter continued her improvement, setting a new overall PB at Rising Sun.
The biggest sky blue turnout was on the Town Moor, where Sarah Kerr maintained her recent excellent form to record yet another PB and finish 2nd lady. It also marked a landmark for Tom Tinsley, running his 300th parkrun at the event where he ran his first back in 2010.
There was a male 1-2 for us at Jesmond Dene – where Jack Shawcross pipped Mark Anderson to the line (Jack isn’t in the results table below as he is a 2nd claim Claremonter).
Over in Northern Ireland, Laurie Johnson went to use Ormeau parkrun as a warm-up for the Belfast marathon the next day and was surprised to see Chris Jones there as well.
