Claremont Road Runners were out in force at parkruns this morning and, as usual, we spread ourselves about! First off, in that far-flung corner of Europe called Australia (well, they are in the Eurovision Song Contest!) was Maria Dueñas. Maria was delighted to not only bag an “A” as she needs lots to spell her name, but also to get her fastest ever parkrun time anywhere and to finish as first lady! What a great way to start the day.
In fact there were PBs aplenty this morning. A trio of the Claremont speed merchants, Mark Anderson, Sonam Wangdi and Sarah Kerr, ran at the Town Moor and all got speedier than ever before! Sarah was also first lady.
There were also PBs for Kat Truong at Leazes, Laurie Johnson at Jesmond Dene, Sophie Douglas at Gateshead and Niki Szlovák at Riverside. Spring is in the air and there is a spring in the steps of Claremont parkrunners!
There was a bit of tourism too. David Lydall ran in what he described as the “Prettiest but toughest parkrun I’ve taken on” in Durlston Country Park, Dorset – it certainly looks lovely in the photos. Like Maria, Alex Harding was also collecting the alphabet as he ran at Isobel Trail in Staffordshire.
