Derwent Reservoir 10 Mile Trail, 25th February 2024
Jim Crinnion headed to Derwent Reservoir this Sunday for some trail action:
“After enjoying my first Wild Deer run last year, Hadrian’s Half Marathon, I was looking for another that would fit in with my London Marathon training. At 10 miles it was a little shorter than my scheduled Sunday run, but the hills helped make up for that.
Headed there for my first run wearing Claremont Road Runners colours with girlfriend from Kippax Harriers and friend from Stocksfield Striders, adding some goodnatured and friendly rivalry.
On arrival for registration, the morning was foggy with no views of the reservoir. Thankfully the fog cleared as the run started allowing for great views during the race. There wasn’t too much elevation during the course, a couple of moderate climbs around miles 2-3 & 7-8, so I managed to keep to the pace I’d planned pre run.”
Well done Jim for finishing 33rd, in a time of 01:18:06.
