With the Town Moor once again postponed, numbers were swelled at other local parkruns. The largest Claremont contingents were at Whitley Bay and Jesmond Dene, the latter producing PBs galore with Lucy Keating, Aoife Monaghan and Anneliza Andreadi all producing course record performances.
We all got a soaking before the start at Whitley Bay, though the rain stopped in time for the off – and Luke O’Neill started like a rocket, then held on for a course PB. Francesco Carrer does not appear in the results – but I can vouch for his presence and saw him finish! Lena Lou was also there, but pulled out when she felt knee pain on the first lap.
Roberto Marzo is flying at the moment and clocked another PB with a 3rd place finish at Denton Dene. Over at Gateshead, Ann Smith completed one of the more random parkrun challenges with a palindrome for a finish time (34:43).
Not a lot of tourism this week. Chris Jones followed in Aoife and Jack’s footsteps with a trip to Marshall Drive near Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Alex Anslow was on familiar ground at Sandringham in Norfolk.
