Lakeland 100, 26th-27th July 2024
I have said before that Simon Lowe likes a challenge and they don’t come much tougher than this. As the name implies, the Montane Lakeland 100 is a 100 mile ultra trail race over the Lake District fells.
Simon had a tough time of it but stuck at it to the end. In his own words “Feet macerated badly with the worst blisters I’ve ever had. Twisted my knee around Dalemain so ended up walking for the last 40 ish miles. Such a relief to get it done.” Amazing, Simon – most of us couldn’t walk 60 miles at the best of times, never mind having already run for 60+ miles and having sore feet and a twisted knee.
Simon’s Strava shows him completing 105 miles and over 21,000 feet of climbing in 32 hours 42 minutes.
Incredible! Well done, Simon – now have a rest!
