It was a touristy week for Claremont parkrunners, which is perhaps not too surprising at this time of year. Luke Woodend and Lucy Ward ventured to Scotland to collect a rare “U” and “V” respectively – Luke in Strirling and Lucy at Vogrie Country Park to the south of Edinburgh. Claire Taylor ventured north too, but for a much more common “W” at Wallecneuk near Roxburgh in the Scottish Borders.
David Lydall was still in Dorset and Sophie Ellam ran in the beautiful grounds of Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire. However, the most popular destination was on the other side of the Pennines at Keswick, where Arthur Liu, no stranger to this part of the world but a rare sighting at parkrun, was joined by 3 Claremont ladies. It was a first outing on this course for Niamh Garratt and Zoe Jukes, but Sophie Richardson smashed her time from last year for a PB.
Also smashing his PB from some time ago was Laurie Johnson, this time at Whitley Bay. He wasn’t the only one to be pleased with their run at the coast – Gill Milne recorded her fastest parkrun anywhere this year and Lena Lou was delighted just to get around to complete her longest run since injuring herself last time out.
Simon Lowe was also in PB form as he came 2nd at Herrington Country Park, but Denton Dene was the place to be with 100% success for the sky blues running there – so well done to Brian Hegarty and Elizabeth O’Mahony.
