Mid-Cheshire 5K, 30th August 2024

En-route to the Welsh Coast and a parkrun at Barmouth, Aoife Monaghan stopped in Cheshire to run in this 5K. Organised by Run Cheshire, it is billed as “Quite simply one of the fastest 5k road races anywhere in the country”, and Aoife certainly recorded a cracking time. This is her report:

“The Mid-Cheshire 5k is known as being a really fast course as it attracts a very strong field with the winner often coming in under 14 minutes so I thought I’d try my luck at another 5k race. This year’s winner did it in 13:38 and the first female did it in 15:18. It’s safe to say I didn’t come close to either of those but I did go away with a 10 second PB of 22:29! Would definitely recommend that race to anyone chasing a PB”
