Köln Marathon, 6th October 2024

Harry Mawdsley was in Köln in Germany to run in the city’s marathon. The route takes runners along the Rhine, taking in most of the city’s sights before finishing in front of the famous cathedral. It stays fairly central, winding its way back and forth- something that Harry said meant there was great support all along the course.
He absolutely smashed it, breaking the 3 hour mark to finish in 2:56:39 in an excellent 166th place (out of over 4,000).
This was Harry’s second marathon and “Half an hour quicker than my first one”, despite a tough end to the run as “The last 6k were horrendous into a head wind”.
Fantastic run, Harry. Well done!
