It was another sunny morning in the North East, if a little chilly, for our weekly dose of parkrun, and there were plenty of Claremonters out, running and volunteering to enjoy it.
We had a couple of first places to celebrate too – Harry Mawdsley finishing 1st at our “home” in Leazes Park, and, a bit(!) further afield, Lily Crouzier was 1st lady at her temporary base of Cape Town in South Africa. Mark Anderson got an excellent 3rd place on the Town Moor, while there were PBs for Niamh Garratt at Town Moor and Claire Taylor at her home event of Wynyard Woodland
Laurie Johnson and Cate Walker were on Teesside, where Cate slithered her way around Stewart parkrun to complete the “snake” challenge (10 different parkruns beginning with S). Over in Keswick, Lena Lou ran her fastest ever parkrun – although it was not flagged as a PB as it was her first outing at this venue. Further south, Jim Crinnion ran at Nostell Priory in West Yorkshire, while Dave Lydall was in Derby.
It is also nice to welcome Hazel Juggins and Anna Round to the fold, both with her first ever parkruns – what took you so long, ladies? Now you know what you have been missing, I hope you will soon be back for more.
