Run Through Quayside 5K, 23rd April 2025

For Claremont, this was more of a volunteering rather than a running event. One of our team, Gill Milne, sent this report:

“This event covers 4 races – an under 11 1K, a Junior 3K and a Senior 5K. For the first time Claremont had a volunteer team at this Run Through event made up of 13 members/friends. The rain held off and the conditions were good for running but there was certainly a cold wind for the volunteers out on the course or at the start and finish to contend with. We only had 1 runner, Nina Jensen, in the 5K race but Lena-Lou was the official tail runner doing a fantastic job encouraging the back markers home.

A big thank you to Laurie for getting us all organised so we could support the local running community and raise some funds for the club. I especially enjoyed watching the Under 11 race with their determined faces and/or beaming smiles.”
