DK Mile, 6th June 2025
No. 3 in the series tonight at Blyth Battery. Harry Mawdsley and Aoífe Monaghan were making their debuts, the former coming in 4th fastest on the night, and comfortably under his previous lifetime best of 5 minutes, despite apparently having “no kick” left in him at the end. Mark Anderson continues to be Mr. Consistent, running within a whisker of his PB, set last time out. Still on the tentative road back from injury, I was very pleased to improve on May’s effort by 7 seconds.
Stealing the show however, was young Charlotte Kerr. After her missed-start mishap last month, she had a chance to prove what she could really do against the competition, easily managing to run the sub-7 we’d predicted she had in her, clocking a fantastic 6:44, and finishing as the first junior girl across the line. Well done Charlotte, you more than earned that sticky toffee ice cream!
