No. 3 in the series tonight at Blyth Battery. Harry Mawdsley and Aoífe Monaghan were making their debuts, the former coming in 4^th fastest on the night, and comfortably under his previous lifetime best of 5 minutes, despite apparently having “no kick” left in him at the end. Mark Anderson continues to be Mr. Consistent, running within a whisker of his PB, set last time out. Still on the tentative road back from injury, I was very pleased to improve on May’s effort by 7 seconds.

Stealing the show however, was young Charlotte Kerr. After her missed-start mishap last month, she had a chance to prove what she could really do against the competition, easily managing to run the sub-7 we’d predicted she had in her, clocking a fantastic 6:44, and finishing as the first junior girl across the line. Well done Charlotte, you more than earned that sticky toffee ice cream!
