Durham Trail 10 Miler, 1st June 2025
Dave Roberts jumped in at the last minute to enter this 10 mile trail race with his friend, Tom Baker (insert Doctor Who joke here). Organised by Trail Outlaws as part of their Urban Trail series, the route is described thus:
“The 10 mile route starts in Durham City before heading down along the rivers Wear Dale Way, through the fabulous local woods of Shincliffe and Croxdale, running along some trails we guarantee you have never ran before. You will then return to the City via some great trails and finishing with the spectacular climb up to the top of Whinney Hill; where you will be gob smacked by the uninterrupted view of Durham Cathedral from one of the highest vantage points within the city itself.”
The man himself said: “I’d definitely recommend it, 3 hard hills, but has some great views of Durham along the way. “
Dave completed the course, and around 1000 ft/300 metres of ascent in 1:56:00. Good work, Dave!
