As is appropriate during summer holiday season, tourism was the name of the game this Saturday morning. There was a great turnout at Tyne Green in Hexham, the designated monthly club tourism venue, where there was a victory and a PB for our 2nd-claimer Jack Shawcross, and a PB for organiser Lena Lou too (we seem to write this every week!). There were other good runs and a most enjoyable time drinking coffee and having breakfast in the sun afterwards.
Elsewhere we were well and truly spread around the country from Scotland to London and Swindon. Julie Cross nabbed a course PB at Penrith and, Looking for a pre-Oasis parkrun, Catherine Young not only turned up at one of our regular haunts, Harrow, but finished as first lady!
However, tourist of the week must be Cate Walker. Cate made her way to Norfolk in order to run at Great Yarmouth, ranked the hardest parkrun in the UK, only to find it was cancelled! Luckily she had time to change plans and found an alternative, not quite so tough, parkrun to satisfy the Saturday morning parkrun cravings.
Nearer home, Alex Taylor chose Jesmond Dene as the venue for his 50th parkrun, where he was joined by Kenny McCormick running hos 150th.
