It was a Claremont volunteer takeover at Leazes Park, where all the volunteer positions were filled by sky blues. It was also graduation day for our latest Couch to 5K group, though injuries and work commitments limited the number of graduates to 3. All 3 did very well, completing the 5K in very respectable times. The course leader, Izzy Neatrour, also had a good run, finishing as 3rd female. There was a well-attended presentation afterwards in the Lost Wanderer cafe, where the trio were given certificates to mark their achievements. We hope that they have enjoyed the course and keep on running!
Elsewhere in the North East, the Smiths continued their streak of collecting course PBs together, this time at Prudhoe, and Nicki O’Brien made the short trip up the coast to collect a course PB at Blyth Links.
Further afield, Claire Taylor was in Germany, where she became the 8th Claremont Road Runner to participate at Hasenheide in Berlin.
