With the Alnwick Harrier League fixture taking place that afternoon, a number of took a morning off, volunteered or just had a gentle jog for their morning parkrun – even Lena Lou took it steady following her PB/cross-country double last time out!
She may not have run a PB, but Holly Porter was the exception to this rule, finishing as 3rd female at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea before heading across to join the team at Alnwick Castle. Holly was one of a trio of Claremont ladies to “podium”, with Heather Steel and Catherine Young both coming 2nd. Heather was on home soil in Saltwell Park, but Catherine was on the tourist trail at Selby. Also in Yorkshire was Lauren McQuillan who was a first-timer in Bradford.
Flying the flag for Claremont on the other side of the North Sea, James Fowler was our one international tourist – at Amager Faelled in the Danish capital.
PBs were extremely hard to come by, with just one this week – Lynne Cornell having a break from her world tour to speed around Blyth Links.
