It was another gloriously sunny morning for a 5K in a park, so definitely one to enjoy – which plenty of us did.
Seeking the shade, Harry Mawdsley ran at Jesmond Dene – and came first! It must have been an exciting,photo-finish with 2nd place being given the same time, with both runners being over a minute ahead of 3rd place. Ailsa Ralph bagged a PB at Whitley Bay – it wasn’t just a course PB but her fastest ever parkrun anywhere! Otherwise the place for PBs was Wynyard Woodland, where Laurie Johnson and Lena Lou excelled (I think Lena needs to change her name to PB by deed poll), Cate Walker may well have completed the hat-trick there if she hadn’t been a first-timer.
We spread ourselves around the North East, with a large turnout at Leazes, and the only ‘real’ tourism was at the ever popular Keswick where Lucy and Rob Ward were joined by Mariana Mouzinho.
