DK Mile, 7th August 2026

After last month’s drizzly affair, we were back to the usual sunny evening at Blyth Beach, with a little more than a light breeze swirling around to keep us company.

It was another fruitful event, with PB runs for myself and Tara Hipwood, a PB-equalling effort for Harry Mawdsley (3^rd fastest overall on the night), and seasons bests for Sarah Kerr and Chris Jones, plus a solid effort for a returning Mark Anderson on his first mile run-out of the year.

Following a 5k PB on Wednesday, Charlotte Kerr eschewed another record attempt this evening, instead dropping back to encourage and run in with another girl in her wave, when she heard her emitting audible signs of distress. She still finished in a more than decent time, but more importantly earned a metaphorical Good Samaritan award for her kindness.
