Devils Foot Half Marathon 17th October 2021

Nina has been running again this time in the borders. Lovely undulating route followed by a steep climb up Eildon Hill. The route down was interesting when I encountered some naked hikers! My speed certainly picked up to get past them!

parkrun Saturday 21st August 2021

It was wet and drizzly Saturday morning.  But it was quite warm and not too windy, so not the worst day for a parkrun.  Leazes parkrun was cancelled because triathletes were swimming round the pond and it’s holiday time, so our runners were spread far and wide.  It was a good PB day – Laurie Johnson, Izzy Neatrour, …

Rose Hawkswood was race director at our very own, and very local, Leazes parkrun …

The eleventh Weetslade Relay was scheduled for June 23rd 2021. The current Government Road Map led to the hope of removing all coronavirus restrictions on June 21st. However, as this was not possible, Claremont Road Runners have taken the decision to cancel the race. It would not be possible to hope to hold a traditional …

Blind Date, Claremont Style, March 2021

For our latest, and perhaps final, lockdown amusement, we had a bit of fun with blind dates! Our Cilla (aka Nina) and our Graham (aka Tom) drew random pairs of runners to on a “blind date”. The idea was that each person would run 2 miles as quickly, turning the blind date into a speed …
