parkrun, 17th September 2022

Claremont’s spiritual home, Leazes Park was cancelled this week to make way for an ‘Allotment & Garden’ show, so club members could be found spread across the parkruns of the North East like perennial weeds.

Mariana Mouzinho celebrated her birthday at Jesmond Dene with half a dozen Claremonters in attendance, both she and Margaux Robin achieving course PB’s.

Different congratulations were in order for Clare McKitterick, running her 150th parkrun while visiting Cotsford Fields and finishing as 1st lady to boot. Well done Clare!

Another 5 Claremonters joined the 581-strong pack on the Town Moor, their highest parkrun attendance since before the pandemic, with a further 4 of us venturing to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. Only a lone Frontrunner prevented a Claremont coastal clean sweep, with myself (PB), Nikoletta Szlovak (1st lady), and Tom Tinsley (course PB) taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
