NEHL Cross Country Season 2023/24
The 2023-24 Cross Country season is imminent.
If you haven’t done cross-country before, please come along and have a go! The North East Harrier League takes place over a series of events linking the start of autumn, through the depths of winter, to the promise of spring.
They are really sociable events, giving the opportunity to run in the great outdoors, and to join a large band of runners of all ages and abilities in some lovely parts of the north-east, stretching from Peterlee to Alnwick. There is always a good Claremont turnout, lifts are arranged, and homemade cakes are regularly provided by the Claremont bakers.
Dates to note
The dates of this season’s events are below. Each event will be open to sign-up to on Spond as they approach, generally 2-3 weeks in advance, but good to make a note now. All take place on a Saturday (with the exception of Druridge Bay).
There is now a Spond active to register your interest for the Harrier League, to be registered once entries open. If you have any questions in the meantime about cross-country, please get in touch via the team captains email, or ask around at a club night. Entries are paid for by the club. Once registered, you are then eligible to run at all league events for the rest of the season.
If you’re still unsure whether XC is for you, and don’t register in time for the first event at Wrekenton on 23rd September, don’t worry. You can register at any point during the season to take part in the remaining fixtures. You are also free to take part in as many or as few events as you like, though hopefully you’ll be excited and eager to run in them all!
