The first day of meteorological summer lived up to its billing, and a warm, sunny morning greeted parkrunners around the region. Once again, we spread ourselves around the region, though, surprisingly, there were no club members running around the Town Moor. The largest contingent was at Leazes, where even Rose Hawkswood had a rare day off from volunteering to join in the fun in the sun.
Mark Anderson marked his 150th parkrun with a win at Blyth Links – a PB being the icing on the cake. It was a 1-2 for Claremont ladies at Herrington Country Park where Sarah Kerr and Izzy Neatrour where first two females home, the two of them split by the 3rd sky blue there, Jim Crinnion. Sarah also notched up a PB. The only other PB on the day was for Sophie Richardson at Durham.
Not much tourism this week, though Aoife Monaghan ran at Enniskillen in Northern Ireland with Jack Shawcross (who came 2nd).
