With the circus in town and planting their tents on the moor, there was once again no Town Moor parkrun causing elevated attendances at the other local venues. However, the chosen venue for the reinstated monthly Claremont parkrun tourism was slightly further afield at Carlisle Park in Morpeth – a lovely route up the hill, through the woods and along the river that, thankfully, wasn’t too busy for the narrow out and back stretch. It was a warm, sunny morning in Morpeth too which made for an enjoyable trip, especially for Gill Milne who ran a course PB despite having to stop to fasten a shoelace.
There was also a PB for Laurie Johnson at Tyne Green, and 3 more for Claremonters on their travels. The ever-improving Cate Walker returned to Manchester and ran a PB at Alexandra Park. Further south, at Devizes in Wilsthire, the Smiths were also on familiar ground at Quakers Walk parkrun. Ann and Eddie clearly ignored this instruction as they clearly ran the course, both clocking PBs.
Many people head to Edinburgh at this time of year to see comedians at the Fringe Festival, but our own joker, Anton Mirafsari went to collect an “E” for his parkrun alphabet. Sophie Richardson was also running north of the border at Victoria Park in Glasgow.
Another tourist on familiar ground was David Lydall in Dorset. Having recently relocated to Norfolk, Alex Anslow has a new home run of Sandringham. All the best for the future, Alex, and let us know if you are back in the North East for a parkrun in the future.
