Claremont Road Runners stalwart Julie Cross celebrated her 100th parkrun at Leazes today, congratulations Julie! Elsewhere, there was a smattering of tourism and some notable performances.
The prize for furthest flung tourist was a curiously close contest, with both Holly Porter and Rose Hawkswood running at Leicestershire-based country parks. Holly edged it, Market Bosworth being a few miles further south and east from Watermead, and finished as 1st lady to add to her honours. Further north, Anton Mirafsari was at the oldest of all the parkruns visited this week, running at Oldham’s 653rd event, while Heather Steel debuted at Heslington in York.
Back in the North East, Izzy Neatrour swapped last week’s sunny Italian jaunt for a turn around a grey Town Moor, brightening it up with a course PB. Aoífe Monaghan and Alex Harding also ran PB’s at Blyth Links and The Pastures in Alnwick respectively.
