We’ve barely left summer behind, but there was an almost wintery chill in the air this morning for parkrunners in the North East.
There would probably have been fewer places fresher than the coast, where Chris Jones returned to Newbiggin to claim a course PB on the promenade. He was joined in this accomplishment by Aoífe Monaghan and Niamh Garratt, running further inland at Town Moor. No PB’s, but silver linings for Izzy Neatrour and Nikki Szlovák, finishing as 2nd lady at Jesmond and Riverside respectively.
With the Loch Ness marathon the following day, Anton Mirafsari took it easy at Torvean in Inverness. Further south on the west coast, Sophie Richardson was running at St Andrews in Craigtoun Country Park. Much further south, the Smiths took on Clapham Common, with a not-quite-Bushy level 902 runners participating! Hopefully there wasn’t too much jostling the start!
