A parkrun on Christmas morning is something of a tradition these days, and one that I always look forward to! With no event on the Town Moor, Leazes Park had a record attendance as 373 people ran, jogged or walked around the still longer than normal course. 12 Claremont Road Runners were amongst the crowd, including Jo Perthen who was celebrating her 50th parkrun – a great day to mark a milestone.
Elsewhere, Niki Szlovak was 3rd female at Gateshead and there were some good performances from those spending Christmas away from the North East. Cath Robson, Jim Crinnion and Rose Hawkswood all getting course PBs.
