Is there a better way to start the new year than a parkrun with your friends? Well, how about getting a PB when running parkrun with your friends? That is exactly what Julie Cross, Tara Hipwood, Lucy Ward, Lena Lou and David Devennie all did! In the case of the first 4, they were part of a 13 strong Claremont contingent at Blyth Links, where, thankfully, the weather was nothing like as bad as we had been dreading and some of us even braved the North Sea (all be it very briefly!) afterwards.
Most of us were back in the North East, so Yana Bevan wins tourist of the day for running in the South East at Bexley.
Let’s hope that this is the start of another great year for the club and parkrun.
