parkrun, 14th February 2026

With many local events falling foul of the cold weather, and other Claremonters resting before the (also cancelled) relays, it was tourists who were in the majority this week. The lure of cheap train tickets, saw a group of sky blues venture to the Scottish capital to run in the very scenic surroundings of Holyrood Park, and they were treated to glorious blue sky blues and ice-free paths.

Rachel Hurdman was even further north in Dundee, with Rose Hawkswood and Jim Crinnion at fairly regular haunts in Coventry and Leeds respectively. Ann and Eddie Smith headed west to a very chilly-looking Talkin Tarn, with others spreading themselves out to find North Eastern events that beat the big freeze.

Lucy Keating was down in the Thames Valley, but struggled to find an event that wasn’t waterlogged! Eventually she discovered Woodley parkrun in the Reading suburbs, and sent us this nice report.
