DK Mile, 4th September 2026
The final race of the 2026 series took place on a sunny, but blustery evening at Blyth promenade. As is often the case with the last race of the year, there were quite a few absences, and only 4 Claremonters were running, while Chris Jones answered a call-out for extra marshals
The savage headwind on the inbound stretch could have been an excuse for no-one running their fastest times… if it wasn’t for the fact that Liviu Ionita of Darlington Harriers broke the course record, with an eye-watering 4:29!
No doubt then about the fastest overall runner of the season, but our own Tara Hipwood, despite her absence on the night, received the trophy for fastest in her age category. Congratulations Tara!
